Bagel with cream cheese & smoked salmon
A favourite for weekend brunch, providing a great feeling of indulgence. A mug of rich coffee is essential as is a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkling of pepper. Dill is also an option but not essential.
When I was a kid, we used to make our own bagels. There was nothing like a basket of freshly made bagels for a Sunday lunch with an array of toppings and fillings, from the sublime smoked salmon & cream cheese to ham and tomato or Cheddar cheese or just plain butter and jam.
Definitely an experience worth repeating as an adult – coming one Sunday soon…
