The Revolutionary Egyptian Falafel

Egyptian Falafel

The most popular stall at Hammersmith’s Thursday food market is surprisingly not the hog roast bap but the falafel wrap, wonderfully prepared by a team of remarkable men from Egypt.

As the queue snakes back around the square, these guys prepare the wraps a dozen at a time, managing to remember each person’s specific requirements.

And literally dripping with flavours, they are delicious.

The secret is freshly deep-fried falafel, fresh salad, a secret chili and peanut sauce, and mint leaves.

Just what the people of Egypt need to fight for their rights against the junta.
